Bike Marking Event - ASDA Pershore

Today PCSO Ashley and PCSO Rice were joined by Response PC Baker and Steve Jones from Wychavon Community Safety Team for a bike marking event outside Asda.

Bike marking helps cyclists to protect their bikes from theft and we hold regular free bike marking events alongside the Community Safety Team throughout the year.  We bring along lots of free bike goodies; including Hi-Viz backpack covers, flashing armbands and bike light sets.

Bikes get marked with a unique code which is then registered with the national Bike Register database.  A warning sticker is applied to make it clear that the bike is marked. Thieves are less likely to target a marked bike because it will be easier for police to identify that it has been stolen and who it belongs to.
